Alix was born in Texas, grew up in California, and currently divides her time between Lorane, her home base, and Vida, OR., where she works in her studio over looking the McKenzie River.
She studied art at Santa Barbra City College, Lane Community College, and the University of Oregon, but is largely self-taught. She taught Painting at the Coos Bay Art Museum and also worked in the field of Special Education for fifteen years as an Art Therapist. She has received numerous awards during her 35 years as a professional painter.
Several years ago, she and her husband Bruce created their highly successful business, Red Horse Art Company, and have begun to sell their one of a kind furniture, wall hangings and painted screens nationally.
